Article 154 — Article 154 — Executive Power of State

(1) The executive power of the State shall be vested in the Governor and shall be exercised by him either directly or through officers subordinate to him in accordance with this Constitution.

Article 154 mirrors Article 53 at the Union level. The Governor's executive power is largely formal — real power rests with the Chief Minister and Cabinet under Article 163. The Governor's independent discretion is limited to constitutionally specified situations (Article 200 on assent, Article 356 on President's Rule recommendation).
